Summary: During the making of the negative cast the patient’s position and thus the joint angles are decisive for the function of the orthosis and the treatment’s success. The making of the negative cast is optimised by reproducing the joint angles of the individual normal posture with maximum precision. The presented tool allows for an exact reproduction and the transfer of the joint angles to the positive cast in frontal plane as well as in sagittal plane. By using the described production technique, many improvements can be made, for example in regards to the activation of the mechanical knee joints and the effect of a mounted dorsiflexion stop.
