FIOR & GENTZ Gesellschaft für Entwicklung und Vertrieb von orthopädietechnischen Systemen mbH was founded by Jörg Fior, master orthotist, and dipl.-Ing. (FH) Ralf Gentz on 1 March 1997 in Lüneburg near Hamburg.
FIOR & GENTZ exclusively develops and distributes orthopaedic products. In addition to our range of therapeutic and orthosis shoes, the focus is on specialised field of neuro orthotics. We manufacture the necessary system joints for the production of custom-made orthoses for people with neurological impairments and disabilities.
Since January 2026, FIOR & GENTZ has been managed by Thomas Gast. With his many years of experience in various management positions at Össur, most recently as Managing Director Central Europe, he has a deep understanding and sound expertise in our core markets.
Our Vision
At FIOR & GENTZ, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovative orthotic treatments to provide people with mobility impairments worldwide with the best and highest quality care using our products. With this goal in mind, we provide orthotists with our expertise.
Our Concept – Cooperation with Customers and Patients
Due to our high quality standards for patient care, our products are sold exclusively through suppliers and are used in custom-made devices. Our customers include orthopaedic workshops and medical supply stores, for example. This means that neurological indications can be treated at the highest level.
In order to comprehensively share the FIOR & GENTZ philosophy, we offer our customers extensive training in the production of modern, custom-made neuro orthotic devices.
The system joints developed by us and, if required, the necessary electronic components are used to build a neuro orthosis. We also supply our customers with materials that are specially adjusted to the production techniques we have developed. Our specially developed Orthosis Configurator uses complex calculations to compile a “production kit” for our customers with all system joints, components and materials that are perfectly customised to the patient's treatment requirements.
The consistent implementation of this collaboration is already enabling countless people with neurological indications to lead a carefree life.
Our Achievements
Thanks to a custom-made orthosis, most patients are able to stand upright again without any other devices. Many can even regain a natural gait. In addition to these immediate successes, many secondary diseases, such as pain in the shoulders and back as well as circulatory disorders, disturbed digestion or muscle shortening caused by a lack of movement due to prolonged sitting, are reduced or ideally even prevented. This facilitates the integration of people with neurological impairments back into social life.
