Maintenance

What should be done during the maintenance of the orthosis?
While maintaining the orthosis, all components that are subject to wear should be checked and replaced in the intervals described in the maintenance plan. The Functional Element‎s of the Orthosis (such as orthosis shells and foot piece) must also be checked for wear (1). If required, there will also be a readjustment (2) with a subsequent check of the orthosis (3) and a next maintenance appointment (4).

Why do we recommend the regular maintenance of an orthosis according to the maintenance plan?
First of all, the regular maintenance of an orthosis and its mounted system joints ensures the patients’ safety.

In addition, a regular maintenance can provide a nearly unlimited period of use of the system joints. Thus, patients and orthotists are given the possibility to freely decide when it is time for a new treatment step and a new orthosis.

A regular maintenance also helps reducing costs, because a well-maintained orthosis, that may also be adjustable or convertible, ensures a long treatment period.
