NEURO HiSWING System Ankle Joint with plug + go Modularity

The NEURO HiSWING system ankle joint is the first hydraulic ankle joint in orthotics. The orthotist adapts the orthosis individually to the pathological gait of the patient. In its basic alignment, it is adjusted to level ground. If necessary (e.g. when walking uphill or downhill), the ankle joint angle can be adjusted by the patient by opening the hydraulic valve via the lever. The spirit level on the system ankle joint indicates the alignment set by the orthotist for the respective slope or incline when the air bubble is centred. In this manner, the ankle joint angle can also be optimised for different heel heights and for wearing the orthosis without a shoe. The system joint is currently available in system widths of 16 and 20mm.

Furthermore, the NEURO HiSWING system ankle joint is equipped with integrated noise reduction and a dynamic and adjustable dorsiflexion and plantar flexion stop. The stops are set by the spring units. The range of motion and the spring force can be adjusted in dorsiflexion as well as in plantar flexion by exchanging the spring units. For more comfort when sitting, the lever can be opened and the range of motion can be increased by 34°.

plug + go Modularity

Furthermore, the system joint is equipped with plug + go modularity. This means that it can be converted into any other system ankle joint with plug + go modularity by exchanging the functional unit. For the conversion into the NEURO HiSWING, the spirit level must also be mounted.

Functional Unit

The functional unit of the NEURO HiSWING system ankle joint consists of the following functional elements:

  1. hydraulic components
  2. precompressed spring units
  3. system components for noise reduction
