KAFO with NEURO TRONIC System Knee Joint and NEURO VARIO-SPRING System Ankle Joint
In 2009, the patient was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis following a spinal disc herniation with persistent paralysis after surgery. In 2011, after drug intolerance, she suffered a cardiac arrest and fought her way back to life, especially for her child. As the disease progressed and her right leg remains paralysed, she was only able to move around using a walker or a wheelchair in cases of severe fatigue. She first learnt about orthoses in 2011.
In 2017, the Sanitätshaus D.O.M. Schwerin fitted her with a new orthosis with a NEURO TRONIC system knee joint and NEURO VARIO-SPRING system ankle joint by FIOR & GENTZ. The video clearly shows that her gait is more physiological and that she is more secure when walking. She is able to climb stairs or inclines and declines without the need for additional devices. After all these years of doing without, she can now even cycle again and discovered geo-caching for herself.
