KAFO with NEURO TRONIC System Knee Joint and NEURO SWING System Ankle Joint
Sanitäts- und Gesundheitshaus Carqueville GmbH from Kraftsdorf took clear before and after pictures of this patient. The patient has chronic asthma. She also suffered a severe autoimmune reaction in 2016. Due to this complication, she can no longer control her left leg and is dependent on a wheelchair in everyday life. Without an orthosis or forearm crutches, she can keep herself on her feet, but walking is nearly impossible – as can be seen in the video. With underarm crutches, she can move in a limited manner.
In 2021, she was fitted with a KAFO with a NEURO TRONIC system knee joint and a NEURO SWING system ankle joint by FIOR & GENTZ. The video clearly shows that she is more secure when walking with the new treatment. She no longer needs underarm crutches. After the familiarisation period, she should be able to build up muscles and further improve her gait. The patient says that for the first time since 2016 she feels “no longer disabled”.
