Replacing System Stirrups

In this online tutorial, we demonstrate how system stirrups can be exchanged by producing a new foot piece, without having to build an entire new orthosis. For this, you can use a present cast model as your basis or produce a new one (e. g. based on the old one).

In addition, we provide further online tutorials with more information on the production of a partially flexible, rigid or slim foot piece as well as on bending the system stirrups.

As several system joints require the same tools and similar work steps, we demonstrate the respective technique for various system joints on one example.

Step 1/5

In order to replace the system stirrups, you need:

  • a new system stirrup,
  • an assembly/lamination dummy corresponding to the system joint and
  • an assembly/lamination dummy for system stirrups.

Note: Mind the corresponding system width.

Step 2/5

Remove both spacers from the assembly/lamination dummy for system stirrups.

Step 3/5

Important! Use a new system stirrup.
First, mark the lower edge of the dummy on the system stirrup. Everything above this line must not be bent, as this area (the joint area) is a part of the system joint later.

Step 4/5

Produce the foot piece as usual. Use the assembly/lamination dummy for system stirrups instead of the joint's upper part.

Step 5/5

Mount the system ankle joint as described in the instructions for use and the online tutorial.

Step 1/4

In order to replace the system stirrups, you need:

  • a new system stirrup,
  • an assembly/lamination dummy corresponding to the system joint and
  • an assembly/lamination dummy for system stirrups.

Note: Mind the corresponding system width.

Step 2/4

Important! Use a new system stirrup.
First, mark the lower edge of the dummy on the system stirrup. Everything above this line must not be bent, as this area (the joint area) is a part of the system joint later.

Step 3/4

Produce the foot piece as usual. Use the assembly/lamination dummy for system stirrups instead of the joint's upper part.

Step 4/4

Mount the system ankle joint as described in the instructions for use and the online tutorial.

Step 1/4

In order to replace the system stirrups, you need:

  • a new system stirrup and
  • a NEURO SWING Carbon assembly/lamination dummy.

Work without system anchors.

Step 4/4

Mount the system ankle joint as described in the instructions for use and the online tutorial.
