Summary: A patient with weak plantar flexors serves as an example to show that a KAFO (knee-ankle-foot orthosis) with an optimally adjusted dorsiflexion stop benefits the gait from a functional point of view. These benefits become especially clear when comparing it to an orthosis with no optimally adjusted dorsiflexion stop.
