What do we describe for the process of planning the orthosis?
After having talked to the patient in person and after having gathered the load-related data during the Physical Examination, it is time for planning the orthosis.

Here, we describe processing the patient data by means of a configuration.

Based on the entered data (1), specific recommendations are determined by the Orthosis Configurator (2) that provide support for planning the orthosis (3). This is unique worldwide. Even personal preferences of the patient and requirements of the orthotist can be part of a configuration. Plus, alternatives (yellow) that are functionally flawless and provide sufficient load capacity but differ from the recommendation (green) are listed as well.

Why should the planning of the orthosis be performed using the Orthosis Configurator?
The Orthosis Configurator accesses a multitude of treatments and their obtained findings which were configured since the programme was released in 2006. The advantage is, that decisions that need to be made during planning the orthosis have already been tested several times, if they can be configured.

With support of a configuration, the planning becomes more transparent, safer, reproducible and more efficient. Furthermore, a configuration is an excellent basis for a documentation that follows legal requirements concerning this matter.
