KAFO with NEURO TRONIC System Knee Joint and NEURO SWING Carbon System Ankle Joint
The patient in this video has been suffering from a plexus injury following a surgery in 2019. Due to a haemorrhage in the hip area, the nerves were permanently damaged, which led to neurological failures. At first, the patient managed her daily life with the help of a wheelchair. However, this restricted her considerably and her desire for independence grew. But, as the video shows, the crutches did not provide her with enough support when walking.
The medical supply store Incort from Stade has now produced a KAFO with FIOR & GENTZ system joints for the patient. At ankle height, a NEURO SWING Carbon was mounted. At knee height, the electromechanical NEURO TRONIC with a NEURO VARIO as supporting joint were used. With her new orthosis, the patient has regained her mobility. The video shows that she already feels much more confident. After a short acclimatisation period, she should return to a physiological gait.
