System Ankle Joints

for Producing and AFO (Ankle Foot Orthosis) or KAFO (Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis)

The system ankle joints provide different constructive features. Consequently, a very precise adaptation to different indications is possible. Each system ankle joint offers adjustment possibilities for the range of motion in:

  • dorsiflexion or
  • plantar flexion or
  • dorsiflexion and plantar flexion.

In order to be able to react to the course of therapy, some system joints can be converted to another joint version or into another system joint. This is beneficial as there is no need to produce a new orthosis and costs can be avoided. Not all options are the same for every system joint. System Ankle Joints with No Dorsiflexion Stop

NEURO CLASSIC System Ankle Joint

The NEURO CLASSIC system ankle joint provides motion control. The range of motion in plantar flexion and dorsiflexion can be adjusted by filing the system stirrup. The NEURO CLASSIC system ankle joint can be used for a Borggreve rotationplasty by combining it with the Borggreve stirrup.


NEURO SPRING System Ankle Joint

The NEURO SPRING system ankle joint provides motion control and a dorsiflexion assist. The range of motion in dorsiflexion can be adjusted by filing the system stirrup.
Furthermore, the NEURO SPRING system ankle joint offers various conversion options:

  • The NEURO SPRING REINFORCED system ankle joint can be converted into a NEURO CLASSIC-SWING system ankle joint by exchanging the functional unit (cover plate and pressure spring).
  • In addition, a conversion into a NEURO CLASSIC system ankle is possible by removing the functional unit and mounting a corresponding cover plate.



NEURO CLASSIC-SWING System Ankle Joint

The NEURO CLASSIC-SWING system ankle provides motion control, an increased dorsiflexion-assist as well as a dynamic and adjustable plantar flexion stop. The range of motion in plantar flexion can be adjusted. The range of motion in dorsiflexion can also be adjusted - by filing the system stirrup.

The spring force can be changed by exchanging the spring units. Those enable a controlled, dynamic plantar flexion, control the tibial progression and affect the knee flexion during loading response.

Furthermore, the NEURO CLASSIC-SWING system ankle joint can be converted into a NEURO SWING system ankle joint by exchanging the cover plate and filing the system stirrup.

 

 

System Ankle Joints with Static Dorsiflexion Stop

NEURO VARIO-CLASSIC System Ankle Joint

The NEURO VARIO-CLASSIC system ankle joint provides motion control. In dorsiflexion, the range of motion can be adjusted by filing the system stirrup and additionally by using the adjusting screws (max. 10° per direction of movement). In plantar flexion, the system joint is free moving.

The NEURO VARIO-CLASSIC system ankle joint can be used as supporting joint for the NEURO VARIO-SPRING system ankle joint. Furthermore, the NEURO VARIO-CLASSIC system ankle joint can be converted into a NEURO VARIO-SPRING system ankle joint by removing the cover plate and mounting the corresponding functional unit.


NEURO VARIO-CLASSIC 2 System Ankle Joint

The NEURO VARIO-CLASSIC 2 system ankle joint provides motion control and enables an adjustment of the orthosis’ alignment. In dorsiflexion, the range of motion can be adjusted with the adjusting screw unit (maximum 10°). The pressure spring in the adjusting screw unit reduces the noise of the static stop. In plantar flexion, the system joint is free moving.
Furthermore, the NEURO VARIO-CLASSIC 2 system ankle joint was designed with plug + go modularity. This means that it can be converted to any other system ankle joint with plug + go modularity by exchanging the functional unit.

 

NEURO VARIO System Ankle Joint

The NEURO VARIO system ankle joint provides motion control. It offers the possibility to adjust the range of motion in plantar flexion and dorsiflexion by filing the system stirrups and additionally by using the adjusting screws (max. 10° per direction of movement).


NEURO VARIO 2 System Ankle Joint

The NEURO VARIO 2 system ankle joint provides motion control and enables an adjustment of the orthosis’ alignment. The range of motion can be adjusted in both dorsiflexion and plantar flexion using the adjusting screw units (maximum 10° per direction of movement). The pressure springs in the adjusting screw units reduce the noise of the static stops.


Furthermore, the NEURO VARIO 2 system ankle joint was designed with
plug + go modularity. This means that it can be converted to any other system ankle joint with plug + go modularity by exchanging the functional unit.

The NEURO VARIO-SPRING system ankle joint provides motion control and a dorsiflexion assist. In dorsiflexion, the range of motion can be adjusted by filing the system stirrup and additionally by using the adjusting screw (max. 10° per direction of movement). Furthermore, the NEURO VARIO-SPRING system ankle joint can be converted into a NEURO VARIO-CLASSIC system ankle joint by removing the functional unit and mounting the corresponding cover plate.


NEURO VARIO-SWING System Ankle Joint

The NEURO VARIO-SWING system ankle joint provides motion control and an increased dorsiflexion-assist. The spring unit ensures a controlled lowering of the foot and a controlled tibial progression with knee flexion moment during loading response.

The system joint features a dynamic and adjustable plantar flexion stop. The orthosis’ alignment can also be adjusted. The range of motion can be modified in both dorsiflexion and plantar flexion. In dorsiflexion, the range of motion can be changed using the adjusting screw unit (maximum 10°). In plantar flexion, the adjustment is made via the motion limiting screw and the selected spring unit. All spring units are interchangeable. The pressure spring in the adjusting screw unit reduces the noise of the static stop.

The NEURO SWING-CLASSIC system ankle joint provides motion control as well as a dynamic and adjustable dorsiflexion stop. The range of motion in dorsiflexion can be adjusted. The range of motion in plantar flexion can also be adjusted - by filing the system stirrup. The spring force can be changed by exchanging the spring units.

The NEURO SWING-CLASSIC system ankle joint can be converted into a NEURO SWING system ankle joint by exchanging the cover plate and filing the system stirrup.

The NEURO SWING system ankle joint dynamically brings the patient into an upright position and improves the patient’s stability while walking and standing. In dorsiflexion, the motion control is achieved through an integrated, increased dorsiflexion assist or against the resistance of the anterior spring unit. In plantar flexion, motion control ensures a controlled lowering of the foot and a controlled tibial progression with knee flexion moment during loading response via the posterior spring unit.


The system joint provides a dynamic and adjustable dorsiflexion and plantar flexion stop. The stops are set by the spring units. The orthosis’ alignment is adjustable. The NEURO SWING H2O system ankle joint is a dirt- and water-resistant joint, fitted with a robust, carbon fibre-reinforced joint case. It dynamically brings the patient into an upright position and improves the patient’s safety while standing and walking. The motion control in dorsiflexion is achieved through an integrated, increased dorsiflexion assist. In plantar flexion, motion control is achieved through a controlled, dynamic plantar flexion, a controlled tibial progression and an affected knee flexion moment during loading response.

The system joint provides a dynamic and adjustable dorsiflexion and plantar flexion stop. The stops are set by the spring units. The orthosis’ alignment is adjustable. The range of motion and spring force can be adjusted in dorsiflexion as well as in plantar flexion by exchanging the spring units of the dirt- and water-resistant joint case.

The system joint adjustments do not influence each other. Therefore, they can be changed separately and independently.
