Producing a Height Compensation

After having produced the dummies for the padding material as usual, foam the height compensation and let it harden. Grind the height compensation so that the leg is in the correct vertical position again, meaning in the position saved by the e-Cast. Mark the pitch x and remove this part in order for the foot piece to match the shoe. 

Transfer the form of the sole by:

• marking the rolling-off line j,
• marking the direction of movement and
• transferring the form of the insole with a stencil.

Then grind everything.

Viewed from the side you can now see:

• the toe spring y
• the rolling-off line j
• the pitch x
• the heel f which is set back 

At the back, the plumb q should fall through the middle of the foamed heel, and, viewed from the side, into the front half of the area between heel and rolling-off line.

Viewed from below, form and length of the sole should match, as well as the position of the rolling-off line. The missing volume should be compensated and the heel should be plumb.
